I've been in medicine for 44 years. Harry Kraus, MD is the real thing. His handling of medicine is real and shows depths. His mission medicine background blends two worlds--easy access versus difficult, rudimentary access. I find Dr Kraus will bring an ethical dilemma to the plot--this aspect of his writing makes the subject matter relevant. The reader may be unaware of ethical dilemmas although immersed in a culture where these things happen every day. Readers are indebted to him for educating the public by using fiction. The difficulties of life are more palatable.I speak in generalities about his writing because I don't want you to miss one of his books. Dig in!

Like his other books, very good read with entwined plots and thought-provoking themes. Great author has wrote yet another great novel!
I read A Heartbeat Away some time ago and liked the author's style. I bought An Open Heart but didn't read it until after a trip to Kenya. I liked the connection to Kenya in this book also. I liked how he pulled the various subplots together.
When you get into the characters of this book, it is difficult to turn the light out and go to bed. The story line pulls you along. Also I learned much concerning the medical community and the things they deal with.
Harry Krause has done it again presenting real world issues in his fiction novels. His reads make you wonder if some of the issues he writes about could really occur. I can't wait to read more of his novels.I hope he can write a little faster.
A great book about current abortion issue and greed of politics, money, prestige but also about the power of listening and heeding the Holy Spirit. I had a hard time reading details of abortion procedures but the author's purpose was to make it plain to the reader that fetuses are live babies. They feel, hurt, are in agony during an abortion that sucks their lives away.
The story is believable in that there are always those who are greedy for money and power even at the expense of innocents victims.
This story shows that believers face problems, too. Having God in your life does not make life easy, it makes life possible.
