She points to "complementary treatments" as accupuncture for supplementing the traditional medical methods for pain and side effect control.As a registered nurse who has worked with many individuals with cancer, including my parents, I found Mrs. Bragg presented very common sense, practical information to consider by others facing such a life challenge. Had a close friend get cancer and he had no clue what to do. Well the doctors had set up a schedule and he was just so confused...I jumped on line and found this book by accident..now I am buying them for my whole family. Some great tips on food and procedures! Wow. Thank you barbara and arthur. You changed a lot of the mystery behind cancer! All types!

My brother-in-law is currently undergoing treatments for throat cancer and this book is invaluable. It is packed with information and beautifully written. I would recommend getting it in hard cover rather than downloading it because it's easier for family members to refer to it which we do constantly.
I bought this for my aunt who was recovering from Throat Cancer and she absolutely devoured this book. She said it was spot on. She felt much relief and really turned the corner after reading this book. She had her entire family read this book so they could help be a support and understand what she was going through. She's now recovered and is an RN and recommends this to all of her Throat Cancer patients.
"Destination Cancer Free", by Barbara Bragg, is a great resource for anyone going through the trials and tribulations of any type of cancer. The depth of information the author shares with the reader, both from the medical standpoint and the personal side, is exceptional. Having been a caregiver myself, for over six years, I can appreciate all the doctors, medical staff and treatments necessary to keep the patient, our loved ones, alive. The author has done a wonderful job of giving the reader direction, hope and real support. The details of their journey are so informative, from actual questions (and answers) they posed to the many physicians they sought out to the recipes and websites they freely share.
When I learned that the proceeds of this book are going to cancer research, I was even more impressed with the book and its author, Barbara Bragg. Congratulations to the author and her husband for documenting their journey and giving so much back.
Treat yourself to this wonderful, inspiring, uplifting book! You will not be disappointed! RA
If you have a diagnosis of base of tongue cancer or know someone who does, you most definitely should read this book. This type of cancer is growing at an alarming rate even though the number of tobacco users is in decline. This book will help those with the diagnosis, their caregivers, family and friends, learn how to prepare for treatment and know what to expect. Barbara is a great source of support and can easily be found on Facebook and also through her work supporting families on several Head and Neck Cancer support group and discussion sites. She is an expert by experience. This book serves as a practical guide that will help you get through a very scary time in your life. Reading this book gave us valuable information that helped us manage physical and medical issues and it helped us to made better informed decisions with our doctors. Last, it supported us emotionally we realized we are not alone in our struggle. Thank you, again, Barbara and Art, for sharing your experience to help others.
