Volle was a pretty big leap for me. It was the first book I had ever read in both the Furry genre and in the Erotic genre, and at first I wasn't really sure what to expect. But wow, not only does this book have an entertaining and even complicated plot-line full of the dramas of being a spy, but it also has, quite frankly, some really amazing sex scenes. The author does a very good job of making you feel for the characters in that they're not just Furries banging around, but well-developed characters with, and I cannot stress this enough, a believable plot-line. Another thing I found in Volle was that the book can be very much enjoyed no matter your sexuality (provided you aren't repulsed by the act of gay sex).

Basically, if you're interested in
-spy/espionage
-Furries
-gay romance
or some combination of the three, this is a very good book (and author) to look into.

An amazing book, so well written that it isn't even funny. I have read this book multiple times and every time I find something brand new that I missed that makes the story even more enjoyable. In my book, that is the hallmark of a great classic book. This book is defiantly worth buying, Kyell Gold is beautiful with words, and paints wonderful pictures with them.
Volle had more than a few surprises. I didn't expect to find myself adoring the main character by the seventh page. I did expect plenty of sex scenes based on reviews I had read before, but I was still surprised by how explicit they were. Some of the canine and feline anatomy terms threw me off for a bit as well. But what really surprised me was the touch of spirituality and romance that was thrown into the story. All in all Volle is a fun read. It was rife with humor and suspense, but never really got dark or gory. If you are looking for something unique, that will make you laugh and put a smile on your face, then Volle is a great book. Just don't leave it around for your kids to find.
I read this book in 2 day. I was that good. The author is Great!! The prolog tyes well with the epilogue. This one will get you "worked up" and everything in between. Can't wait to read the next book "Weasel Presents" eventhough "Pendent of Fotune" the the real seuel.^_^

Considering this is this guy's first novel and he was his own editor for the most part, it was absolutely fantastic and it kept me up at night reading this. I've got very picky tastes in writing and this author has a way of making his books feel down to earth and connect the reader so well that they feel the emotions of the characters very much. If you love the gay furry genre, this book is a must read!
This story is rather intricate and well-thought-out, and those that love government dramas will like it. There are some unexpected plot twists in that area, and it incorporated the workings of a feudal-esque government very well. As someone who isn't really into the more... risque... aspect of the furry fandom, the "scenes" were not too graphic, and I wasn't finding myself wanting to scrub my brain afterwards. Though I feel the love story was a little... sudden? I appreciate Volle as a character, but I wish his home friends had been a little more involved, so that his character is explained a little more by how they view him.

If you're interested in this book, know it does contain homoerotic scenes and a single heteroerotic scene between many species of anthropomorphic animals. As I said, they're not as heavily focused on as in some books, and are written more eloquently than most, but you are forewarned.
I am almost at a lost for words for this great read. It grabs you from the start and I couldnt turn the pages fast enough to see what was going to happen next. The story was great and there was alot of action in it. I very highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good furry read, a must have! Great job Kyle and Sara. keep up the great writing. Cant wait to read Pendant of Fortune. One note here. I sure hope that Volle and Richy pair up. I would love to see that. I suck at writing reviews but I cant stress this enough, get this book ! you wont be disapointed. I sure wasnt.
I have to admit, as a novel this was Okay, however as a furry novel nothing can compare. Gold's writing style isn't the best, but it's certainly strong enough to carry a good story. I was happy to learn that the cheesiness was kept to a minimum something many furry writers could learn from. My only gripe was just a problem with flow. I felt the story really began to progress only during the final few chapters. As soon as it had began it was over. It seemed a lot of loose ends were tied up all at once on the final few pages.

The protagonist is a fairly level headed intelligent guy who's sexual desires play a strong role but don't entirely command his life. This is described as, "Adult fiction," but behind the erotica there lies a pretty fascinating fantasy. Sex did not dominate the story. Sexuality is a major focus of the entire story but the actual indulgences seem no more than typical for a privileged lifestyle, they are just more graphic in portrayal.
Homoerotic isn't really my thing, but with furry you really don't have much choice, however the homoerotic scenes really didn't bother me and I think some other straight furries wouldn't mind it either. I was only a little disappointed at Volle's lack of interest in a particular female for whom I was kind of rooting.

The quality of the book itself was good and the pages were well printed and stable. There were also a few beautiful and tasteful illustrations that only helped to give the reader a better immersion to the scenes within.

I did enjoy the book and will likely read Kyell Gold's other novels.
Would I recommend this book? To a furry certainly. To anyone else probably not unless they asked for a good furry read.
